This Apex year has gone very quickly and it is again time to Handover. I have enjoyed being your club President and feel the year has gone fairly well, with only a few hiccups.
Membership of the club has fluctuated during the year, but our numbers are similar now to what they were at the start of the year. One thing that has been noted is that the average age of members has been reduced, which is good.
I would like to thank the board directors for the effort this year. we have had some changes to directors, due to members leaving the club, and I would like to thank those who filled vacancies.
A highlight of the year was our 600th dinner at the Woolshed on Melbourne Cup day. A large attendance saw John Stevens presented with a well-earned life membership. The Woolshed meeting will again be held this year.
David and Coral Brown visited Burnie Apex in Tasmania during July. This was our club’s first exchange visit with Burnie and David and Coral really enjoyed their hospitality and friendship.
I wish incoming president Ken all the best for the incoming year and I hope that I will be able to have some interesting programmes for our meetings.
Yours in Apex, Bill Parsons.
