Presidents Report – Ken Hayes 1975-1976

Every President who has reached the end of a year has looked back and asked himself the question "What type of year have I had, and how has the Club fared"? Basically I set out to have us all learn a little more about Apex and meeting procedure, and to do this end I feel we have achieved some degree of success. There has also been a lot of other changes tried and even if we did not adopt these changes, we at

least learned that we were on a better track previously. Our membership has been through a consolidating period where unfortunately we have lost a number of members. Aggravating the membership position was the loss of two good members in Robert McLennan and Robert Galagher due to transfer in employment, Hopefully they will not be lost to Apex. In addition we have lost two more through retirement. Lloyd Tremellen,

a foundation member of our Club, and Max Pell who has 12 years service. Such losses are very hard to replace.

It has been great this year to have had the District Governor from our Club. The support given D.G. Phil on his visits around the district by our members, to say the least, has been tremendous.

We must have the best Interclub Visiting record ever.

Congratulations must be extended to D.G. Phil on his guidance to the Clubs and his representations for the district on the many

occasions he has had to do so. To me this has underlined his dedication to his office,

All other facets of our club have been well maintained. Service to the Community, International relations and the social atmosphere within our Club etc, are all more fully covered in the accompanying reports.

Apexians have given a more purposeful meaning to their get-togethers. Congratulations girls on your adoption of a Philippines student.

To my Secretary John Walton, a humble thank you is hardly enough. The high degree of efficiency he has maintained throughout the year has made my job, and every board members job, so much easier.

The club can only be grateful for someone of your calibre. Thanks very much John.

My thanks to the rest of the Board for a year of full support and co-operation; a job well done.

To my wife Val and all the other wives, many thanks for the

hospitality of your homes for the Board meetings, and other social occasions.

To President Ted may your year be full of the same support and respect that I have been given.

Finally a thank-you to all members for the opportunity to serve as your President, A. year of great experience for which I will be forever grateful.

Now, in answer to my original question "FANTASMETHODICAL."
