Fellow Apexians,
Once again, old father time has tilted the wheel over a further cycle, and I now set about reflecting on the last twelve months. Perhaps
Perhaps it can be said that this was not a good year, what with some eight resignations or transfers and seven changes on the board. However, I believe that we continued to function as an apex Club should, the losses were more than offset by the gains.
SERVICE: Our efforts during the year were steady, with
much time devoted to waste paper detracting from our community service activity, I-believe that the paper income could be even higher with a little more attention to detail, and this could be achieved if it were a separate portfolio. Perhaps the crowning glory of the year was the completion of our paper storage shed, once more emphasising the success of full club participation work.
CITIZENSHIP: Again many of our members were prominent on committees in the community; our combined evenings with Firemen and Rotarians gave us the opportunity to improve this aspect of our Apex lives. We, again, were fortunate in having an extremely
capable Port sea Camp Committee who organised for twenty more children to attend the camp.
FELLOWSHIP: This aspect has undoubtedly continued from where
ex-president Morris put it. We have, I believe, experienced another most enjoyable year from this aspect of Apex. 1y personal thanks to all members of the club who assisted in the organisation and administration of any function or on any committee we have needed during the year, and in making my term as President an enjoyable experience.
To my Board (all seventeen of them) I thank you sincerely for the work you have done and the contributions you have made to the proper functioning of the Club. Finally, to Secretary Kevin, the best right Hand any President could have, my grateful thanks.
