Apex is certainly changing from what was a Young Man’s Service Club, to a more fellowship orientated club, with Service and Citizenship running a distant 2nd and 3rd. This certainly applies to Mooroopna Apex. As an older member of our club, I find it
hard to accept. But I firmly believe that all older members should make a determined effort to accept change, because it
will be for the betterment of Mooroopna Apex. I can see many new changes being made under incoming President Gary, and his new young Board. So please give them a fair go and Mooroopna Apex will rise to being a driving force in our Community.
I would consider my year as President as being enjoyable but very uneventful, the exception being the 500th Dinner, Zone Convention, the building of the Paper Shed, the house wrecking, the dinner meeting at Dhurringile and the progressive dinner.
Membership must increase if we are to remain viable, a club cannot function with less than 20 members. So each member should try
and bring at least one prospective member during the year.
May I take this opportunity to thank Secretary Clive for a job well done and the Board and members of Mooroopna Apex. To my family for their support during the year especially Ros for organizing the ladies functions.
Finally, farewell to Ray and Brian and their families. I hope you have both enjoyed your experiences in Apex, and that the friendships you have made continue well on into your future lives.
